A traditional 18th Century inn.

Over two hundred years ago, when the Plough- East Sheen was first founded, it must have looked like a country inn.

There were few other buildings nearby. Fields stood all about. Even a horse-ride to London could take a whole afternoon.

Surprisingly, the rural atmosphere is still there. A couple of minutes' walk, for example, brings you to the edge of Royal Richmond Park, where Henry VIII hunted deer. (These days the king would have to content himself with golf or horse-riding; the deer are protected.)

And the ancient plough hanging from the lounge ceiling is a relic of the time when the Inn itself was a collection of farmers' cottages.
Today many people know the Plough Inn as a great pub & hotel, whose beers and lunch time food are justly celebrated.

But few perhaps know that it offers superb accommodation too, with the option of a large and satisfying breakfast.
